Frequently Asked Questions:
That depends on the job! It is standard in film and photography to charge a day rate (Happy Prawn Media starts at $500), but the scope of the project ultimately determines how much work will also need to be done after shooting, too. Editing hours are not included with the day rate. More days means more expensive, so plan your time carefully! Cost is always negotiated before shooting, and varies from shoot to shoot. Remember to trust the experience and skill of your professional cameraperson. Reach out to Happy Prawn Media if you’d like to get something started!
There certainly can be, yes. Video is generally more involved than standalone photography. If the scale of requested video services could use another set of hands, Happy Prawn Media works in conjunction with Chris Balboni (Balboni Films/Kootenai Valley Digital) to get the job done. Two professionals are better than one – and some projects may need it! This does reflect in the estimated cost, but as with any project, it varies. Contact Happy Prawn Media for more information.
Yes! Most of the images shown in the gallery are available as prints. However, images depicting specific individuals, events, or organizations are not available. Cost varies according to print size and desired needs. Contact Happy Prawn Media about your preferred product to get started.

Not without the express written consent of Sarah Boe. If you represent a publication and would like to buy or license a photo, please contact Happy Prawn Media.
Unfortunately, the need for written consent extends to any outside use. In some cases, consent may have already been given to individuals, events, and organizations depicted in certain images, but it doesn’t imply freedom of use for anyone else. Happy Prawn Media takes care to monitor how photos are used in order to ensure accurate representation, so the express written consent of Sarah Boe is still required.
The same rules apply. If you’d like to buy a print or inquire about use, please contact Sarah Boe at Happy Prawn Media.
In the modern era, it can certainly be tempting to use a cell phone and social media alone, but don’t underestimate the standard of quality that professional photography and video services can bring to your business, event, or organization. Everyone needs visual media. Think of photo and video services as powerful utilities that can be used on professional websites, personal pages, and – of course – as major upgrades to your social media presence. It’s not just about “fancy equipment.” Professionals have the eyes, skills, and experience to elevate you. Remember, everyone’s using a cell phone and social media. Stand out from the crowd and show the world you’re serious!
Happy Prawn Media loves an artistic project that exists purely for expression alone. If you’re a musician, chef, fellow artist, or just anyone with the desire to kick around something creative, please reach out! Happy Prawn Media will also do headshots, action portraits, fashion portraits, etc. Happy Prawn Media does not do weddings, engagements, or maternity shoots.
This depends upon the painting – and in this case, the desired medium of the end product as well. Happy Prawn Media does both digital paintings for print and acrylic canvas paintings, which may affect your price. Small, simple projects start at $150, but a more involved work could be significantly more than that. As always, reach out if you have something in mind!
No. Happy Prawn Media believes in human thought and human expression, and as such, does not display images that were made with “generative” AI. All content is produced with human eyes and human hands – including the digital paintings, which are stylus-on-tablet. This is an AI-free zone, and Happy Prawn Media is proud to be that way.
Yes!
The art gallery is a reflection of an individual artistic style. If you’re in need of a style that doesn’t fit with the work shown in the gallery, Happy Prawn Media might be unable to help you – though there may be another artist Sarah can refer you to!
Indeed. Examples of short stories and articles are not currently available on this website, but that may change in the future. If you desire a writer, Happy Prawn Media can cover that base for you too, depending on your needs.
